How to submit your run
There are three ways to do it. Pick the one that suits you. Each one takes about a minute once you’ve done it the first time.
The 4 golden rules
- Run outside with GPS.
Treadmill runs don’t count. Your phone or watch must record where you ran.
- Run the full distance, plus a little extra.
Day 10 means 10 km. GPS can read a little short, and there is no tolerance, so run 2–3% more.
Day 10 → run about 10.3 km - Start and finish on the same race day.
Every race day runs from 00:00 to 23:59:59 UTC. That’s — where you are.
- Upload early. Don’t wait for the last minute.
If something goes wrong, you want hours to fix it, not minutes. The deadline never moves.

Our built-in phone tracker
Do this once, before Day 1
- Log in on your phone.
Open this website on your phone and log in with the email and password you signed up with.
- Put it on your home screen.
iPhone: in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow ⬆) and choose Add to Home Screen.
Now it opens like an app
Android: in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. - Allow location.
Open Tracker. When your phone asks to use your location, tap Allow. Without it, we can’t record your run.
- Know the one rule: keep it on screen.
While the tracker is open, we keep your screen awake for you, so there’s nothing to change in your settings. Just don’t press the lock button or switch apps during the run. Phones pause GPS for websites in the background. Want music? Start it before you open the tracker.
Your browser can’t keep the screen awake. Before each run, turn off auto-lock: iPhone: Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Never. Android: Settings → Display → Screen timeout → longest. Switch it back afterwards. Or update your phone.
Every race day
- Go outside and open Tracker.
Tap Tracker in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Wait for the green dot.
At the top right you’ll see GPS with a dot. Wait until it turns green. That usually takes a few seconds.
- Tap START RUN and go.
Keep the page open and the screen on. You can hold your phone or keep it in a pocket or armband.
- Watch “To go today”.
It counts down the distance you still need. When it shows ✓, you’ve done the distance. Keep going a little longer to be safe.
- Tap FINISH & SUBMIT.
Wait a few seconds. You’ll see Run approved and ✓ Day complete. That’s it. See you tomorrow.
Strava
Do this once
- Get the free Strava app.
Download Strava from the App Store or Google Play and create a free account.
- Connect Strava to your race.
On this site, open Upload and tap Connect with Strava, then tap Authorize. We only read the runs you choose to import.
Every race day
- Record your run in Strava.
Tap Record, make sure the activity type is Run, then tap Start. When you’re done, tap Finish and Save.
- Open Upload on this site.
Your runs from today appear in the Strava box.
- Tap IMPORT next to your run.
You’ll see Accepted and how much of today’s distance you’ve done.
Any other app or watch
Any app or watch that records GPS works, as long as it can give you the run as a file (.fit, .gpx or .tcx), or send it to Strava. Garmin, Coros, Suunto, Polar, Wahoo and most phone running apps can do one or the other. Tip: if your app or watch already sends runs to Strava, Option B is the quickest.
- Record your run on your watch.
Choose a GPS run (an outdoor run, not treadmill or indoor) and start once the watch has found GPS.
- Let it sync to the watch’s app.
For example Garmin Connect, COROS or Suunto, on your phone or computer.
- Export the run file.
Find the run in your watch’s app and choose Export. Pick .FIT or .GPX if it asks. There are instructions for each brand on the Upload page.
- Upload it here.
Open Upload, tap Choose file, and pick the file you just exported. On a phone, look in Files → Downloads (iPhone) or Downloads (Android).
- Check that it was accepted.
You’ll see Accepted and today’s progress right away.
Check your day
Open My race. When the bar turns green and says ✓ Today’s distance complete, you’re through to tomorrow. Every run gets one of these labels:
Something went wrong?
“Wrong day” or “old run”
The run must start and finish inside today’s race day (00:00–23:59:59 UTC). A run from yesterday can’t be used today. Run again today and upload it.
“Not a run” or “no GPS”
Treadmill runs, indoor runs and runs typed in by hand have no GPS track, so they can’t count. Record outside with GPS turned on.
I’m a little short of today’s distance
No problem, as long as there’s time left. Go out and run the rest, then upload it. All your runs from the same day are added together.
The tracker stopped when my screen locked
Open Tracker again. Your run is saved and keeps going. The part you ran while the screen was off only counts as a straight line, so check “To go today” and run a bit more if you need to. Next time, keep the tracker on screen (see Option A, step 4), or use Strava or a watch.
My file won’t upload
Only .gpx, .tcx and .fit files work. If you have a .zip file, open it first. If it still won’t work, try exporting as GPX instead.
“No timestamps” or my run shows the wrong day
Some apps export a route (just the map line) instead of the activity. A route has no times, so we can’t tell when you ran it. Export the activity itself, or use Strava or our tracker.
Can I send a screenshot instead?
No. A screenshot can’t be checked for date, speed or GPS, so it can’t count. Every run has to be a real GPS recording.
I can’t log in
Check that you’re using the email you signed up with. If you still can’t get in, contact us with the topic Account or login.
Still stuck?
Contact us early. If you reach out after the cutoff, or too close to it for us to help, a missed run is your own responsibility.
